Light Turnout for Tuesday's Primaries

Like the rest of the state, Winston County's voter turnout was extremely light for the Congressional primaries on Tuesday. The Circuit Clerk's office indicated Wednesday that 298 voters cast ballots. Of these, 288 voted in the Democratic primary and 10 voted in the Republican primary for Congressional District One. Results are as follows:
Democratic - District 3
Gill 190 votes
Jackson 66 votes
OHara 32 votes

Republican District 1
Alan Nunnalee received all 10 votes cast.
