High School Teams Hope to Rebound from Last Week's Losses

Last week was not a good one for local high school football teams. All area schools suffered losses in the opening game of the season. Last week, three of the four teams were on the road. This week looks much the same as only Louisville has a home game.

The Wildcats host Starkville at 7:30. This long standing rivalry sees a Yellowjacket team that lost a heartbreaker (14-7) to Noxubee County last week matched against the Cats who also lost a close one to NorthWest Rankin (22-14)

Nanih Waiya is on the road at Kemper County (Dekalb). Kemper defeated Newton 24-6 last week while Nanih Waiya dropped a close one to Union 9-0.

Noxapater faces Ethel who lost a high scoring affair to Pisgah, 47-30 in last week's game. Noxapater took a tough loss also losing to Choctaw Central 33-13.

Winston Academy tries to bounce back after their loss to Leake, 55-19 by traveling to Heritage Academy. The indicated start time of that game is 7:00.
