Driver's along W Main and Old Robinson Road don't need to be afraid. That's not a runaway caboose headed toward your vehicle. Drivers have been surprised this week to find a relic of the old days of railroading, parked along one of the busiest thru-ways in Louisville.
With the cooperation of the City of Louisville and some local businesses, this little red caboose will soon serve as a welcome area for the community. The caboose was generously donated by the Lester Welch family and through the efforts of Choctaw Rails and Taylor Machine Works, it was moved and placed on a set of rails at the junction of W Main (hwy14) and Old Robinson Rd. The Main Street Beautification Committee will assist in remodeling, painting and landscaping the property.
