Area High School Students "Get Their Head in the Game"

The Louisville Career Advancement Center hosted the "Get Your Head In the Game"/ECCC Career Day for area high school juniors on Wednesday (March 9). Students from all county schools including Louisville, Winston Academy, Nanih Waiya, Noxapater and Grace Christian were provided the opportunity to learn more about interactive classes offered by ECCC and received some words of encourage to advance their education.
The day started off as Mayor Will Hill challenged students from Louisville High School to strive for higer education and understand its importance. Roger Whitlock, the Dean of the Workforce Education Center, provided information about the interactive classes offered at the Louisville location. He also advised students to pick a career that they would enjoy throughout their working life and indicated that 85-90% of potential employers now require more than a high school diploma.
Juniors were provided the opportunity to tour the computer lab as students from ECCC handed out information at various stations. The Advancement Center also offers heating/air conditioning, electrical, welding and remodeling classes for career advancement.
