2nd Annual Homecoming w Red Hills Fest on Memorial Day Weekend

Louisville will host its second annual Homecoming in conjunction with the Red Hills Festival on Memorial Day Weekend. Anyone with connections to Winston County is asked to return to the county for the celebration. Whether a graduate of one of our county’s 5 area schools or a school that is now just a memory such as Bond or Ford, everyone is welcome. Through the years some families have moved to Louisville to start their careers. Others have attended elementary school here, but moved before graduating. Or perhaps they spent summers staying with grandparents and have fond memories of swimming at the Lake, fishing on the creek, or sipping on a soda at Peggy‘s Grill. We welcome you back!!!
Homecoming is open to anyone with a special love for our county and its people. Please join us in Louisville as we enjoy the weekend together. A street party on Friday night, May 27th will kickoff the weekend with Back Draft taking the stage around 7 P.M. On Saturday, May 28th, a 5K Run/Walk will be hosted by the Junior Auxiliary & begin at 8 AM. A fun run will begin at 9 AM. Numerous other activities are planned for the day. An antique car show will be held in First Baptist Church parking lot. First Methodist will host an antique show. All ages will be entertained at the festival with crafts, foods, and lots of fun. Full details on any of the events may be obtained from the Chamber of Commerce at 662-773-3921.
The Homecoming tents will be placed in front of Citizens’ Bank on South Columbus Avenue. For those with an out-of-county address, please drop by and register for the door prize. Packed full of Winston County items such as pottery, candles, suckers, dip mixes, and notecards by local artists, the basket will be awarded during the festival. Area churches are being asked to participate in the countywide reunion. Being the fifth Sunday, many will host a “Homecoming Sunday” with dinner on the ground to follow. Please contact your home church for full details on their specific plans for the day. Further details and updates will be posted on the Louisville’s “Homecoming” Weekend facebook page.
