Fatal Shooting in Southeast Winston County Under Investigation

Sheriff's deputies were called to a residence at 1829 Russell Road (located southeast of Noxapater) on Tuesday morning (5-17). The call to authorities was placed by the victim's husband, Gary Lauderdale at 7:33 am.Upon arrival, they discovered the body of 65 year old Nancy Lauderdale with an apparent gunshot wound to the abdomen. The body has been sent to Jackson for autopsy and the investigation is on-going. Autopsy results should be available later today or tomorrow.
