ECCC Offers Training Courses Locally

East Central Community College is offering several courses at the Career Advancement Center on S. Church (old Spartus location). Offerings include:
Pharmacy Technician Training:
REGISTRATION: Tuesday, June 7, 2011
at 6 p.m. Class will meet each
Tuesday & Thursday for
sixteen consecutive weeks.
TIME: 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
COST: $275.00 (includes book)
Certification Exam will cost an
additional $129 with the National
Pharmacy Certification Testing
Board.
Welding Enhancement Class:
training in MIG, TIG, Stick & Gas Welding
BEGINS: Monday, June 13, 2011
Classes will run Monday through
Thursday for three weeks.
TIME: 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
COST: $125
INSTRUCTOR: Shane McDaniel
Certified Nurses Aide Instruction:
Begins June 13 -each Monday & Wednesday
from 4-8 pm for an eight week period

The CNA program is available due to a grant from the United States Department
of Labor, The Montgomery Institute is proud to announce a health care training opportunity for residents of eight East Mississippi counties. While the majority of the funding will be used to provide entry-level, Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) training at three area community colleges, funding is also available for CNA and other health care training classes for current health care institutions (Alliance Health Center, East Mississippi State Hospital, and Rush Health Systems). Finally, a portion of the grant funding is available for scholarships for CNAs to move up the health care ladder to become LPNs and RNs.

REQUIREMENTS:
1. Participants must be a resident of one of the following Mississippi Counties: Clarke, Kemper, Lauderdale, Neshoba, Newton, Noxubee, Scott, and Winston Counties or the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians.
2. Participants must be either dislocated or unemployed to qualify.
• Dislocated means you have been laid off or
have been out of work because your
employer shut down business. If you have
EVER been dislocated in your career, even
if you are working now, you still qualify for
this training.
• Unemployed means you do not have a job
when you apply for this program at the
WIN Job Center.
3. Participants must have a High School Diploma or GED.
4. Participants must be a legal resident or a legally documented worker.
5. Participants must be 18 years of age or older prior to the completion of training.
6. Male participants 18 years of age and older must be registered with Selective Service.
