Preseason High School Football Starts This Week

It’s almost here!! Preseason football action starts this week for county schools. Winston Academy kicks it off as they head to North Delta School (Batesville) to participate in a Jamboree. The Pats take on Kirk Academy at 7:20 and Indianola at 8:40. This is the warm up before heading to Sylva Bay (Bay Springs) for their season opener on August 19th.

Friday night sees Nanih Waiya headed down to Philadelphia for some preseason action. The Warriors join Germantown, East Oktibbeha, JJ McClain (Lexington), Montgomery Co and Newton County for some fast and furious varsity and junior varsity action. Germantown takes on Nanih Waiya JV at 6:40 and Nanih Waiya Varsity meets Montgomery Co. at 7 pm and again at 7:50. In this jamboree, varsity play 20 minute quarters and JV play 15 minutes.

If you’re looking for some action in the county, Noxapater plays host to Choctaw Central and Houston at 6:30. The Tigers start their season on the 19th as well as they head to Ackerman for the season opener.

Louisville is participating in the Fall Jamboree held at Mississippi State on Saturday, August 13th. The Wildcats will join New Hope, Morton, Aberdeen, Noxubee County, McComb, Starkville, Columbus, Philadelphia and West Point in an all day event. Louisville kicks off the action by taking on West Point at 11:00 am. The Wildcats’ season opener is at home on August 19th as New Hope comes to town.
