High school football gets hot & heavy in the county as 3 area teams come home for the second games of the season. Winston Academy will host Oak Hill, Kemper County travels to Nanih Waiya and Eupora takes on the Tigers in Noxapater. Louisville has a rare Saturday game scheduled in Hoover, Alabama as the Wildcats take on Demopolis at 3 pm.
Last week's games were a mixed result for county schools as only the WA Patriots came away with a win: a 46-26 trouncing of Sylva Bay. Turnovers doomed Nanih Waiya as they fell 20-0 to Union and Louisville & Noxapater dropped heartbreakers to New Hope and Ackerman respectively. Noxapater-Ackerman was a back and forth battle that went to the wire as Ackerman came away with a 36-33 victory. While Louisville couldn't seem to find an offense in the second half against New Hope. Turnovers and a strange penalty in the Cats' end zone resulting in a safety near the end of the game doomed the Wildcats to a 17-12 loss.
WWN's FridayNiteTweet will have real time updates throughout the games on Friday night and will follow Louisville's results as well.
