
Bea Sullivan spoke to the group about the need for a center. “Too many older people are just sitting at home because they don’t have a place to go or activities to participate in.” Some suggestions for activities included a “Little Theater”, modeling shows, luncheons, trip organization, and games and activities. The group hopes to soon start with activities at least two days a week from 10 am til 4 pm.
Glenn Green informed the group of the requirements needed to attain a non-profit status and indicated that the process could take from 6-8 months. Ed Truex agreed to visit the senior centers and organizations in surrounding counties and look at their organizational structure and by-laws.
The members appointed an initial board of five members and scheduled their next meeting for November 10th at 6 pm with initial plans to meet at the Louisville Coliseum. Interested individuals are encouraged to attend. W. McCully
