Stew Stomp & 5K Served Up on Saturday

Saturday (Nov 19) is a busy day in Louisville as the 8th annual Stew Stomp is held on Main Street. In addition to all the cooking & tasting, the Cornerstone 5K Walk & Run will start the activities with an 8:30 start time. The 5K is a benefit and all proceeds will go to the local Cornerstone Clinic. If you haven't pre-registered for the race, you can still participate as sign-up begins at 7 am in front of Tabor Drugs.

The 1st Methodist Church will also hold a Fall Bazaar beginning at 7:30 and running until 2 pm on Saturday. And for those of you who can't wait for the stew-tasting, the Church will be offering breakfast from 7 am til 9 am.

The Stew Stomp teams start early and tasting begins at 11:00 am this year. At least eight teams are expected to serve up their best stews or soups for cash prizes and awards. Winners are selected by judges and also by the public as they choose their favorite. Tickets for stew tasting are $5. Judging ends at 2 pm and the winners will be announced by 3 pm.
