Links and Info Concerning Oil Refinery Project in Winston County

Recent articles  in the Neshoba Democrat have provided some info on a company called SNC Energy that proclaims to be prepared to build an oil refinery in Winston County near the Neshoba County line. According to the Democrat, this information was presented at a meeting recently in which representatives of the project stated that the company intended to purchase 300 acres in the County and  construct a refinery employing as many as 5000 - all to be completed by 2016. The story was picked up by other news outlets including WTVA news and the Ms Business Journal.

Given some of the claims and lack of additional information, Winston County officials have been cautious about the prospects of such a project. The Winston County Journal has a front page article and an editorial in today's issue (12-12-12) that detail some of the concerns and unanswered questions.

Several companies are included as promoting the refinery and some of the individuals involved claim to have Winston County ties. WWN expresses no opinion on the project, the companies or individuals involved. We  have made no claim to investigate the validity of the project. We are providing online links to websites associated with these companies and/or individuals for the viewer.

quote from the website:
Safeguard assigned CTG to handle the Oil Refinery Project for SNC Energy in Winston County Mississippi.  CMPI's Mr. Milton Hughes has personally handling the structuring and brining this great Job Generation project to Mississippi.  Some would say that it is to be put in Winston County, but if you ask Jean Meadows she will tell you that they have not decided where it is going yet and that CTG still has to get done doing assessments on the properties that are being pledged to the project.  When asked if Winston County has the location needed, Jean replied with"We can build an Oil Refinery and School anywhere in the world, look at the team we have.  It really comes down to where we have the most cooperation and if it makes sense. These School and Refinery Projects are well overdue for Mississippi and the US... it is up to Mississippi and the communities to step up and help us help them."
