Sales Tax Revenue for the City of Louisville for the previous month increased by roughly $7500 over the same period last year. So far in 2012, sales tax revenue for the City is up $45,000 compared to 2011. Revenue at this point in time in 2011 was $518,343.50 compared to $563,595.20 in 2012. This constitutes an 8.7% increase.
Sales tax revenue has been on an upward trend in general with 2011 having the highest yearly revenue of $1,634,412. The economic downturn in 2008 and 2009 saw a dip in collections but if 2012 collections continue at their current pace, this year's revenue could exceed 2011.
