County Wide TailGate Party to Kick Off Area HS Football

With a bevy of state titles held within the confines of Winston County, folks know that we support our Cats, Tigers, Warriors and Patriots. Tuesday night, August 14 gives everyone a chance to come out and show some team and community spirit as the Chamber of Commerce and the Main Street Association will host the annual Giant Tailgate Party. Scheduled for 7:30 pm in hopes of cooler temperatures,the festivities will occur on South Columbus Avenue in front of Citizens Bank.
Louisville, Noxapater, Nanih Waiya and Winston Academy will introduce their coaches, football teams and cheerleaders to area fans and local students. If you need more information, contact Linda Skelton at the Chamber at 662-773-3921.
Some preliminary football starts even before the Tailgate Party. Louisville will travel to New Hope on Saturday (Aug 11) to take on McComb at a Jamboree at 1:00pm while Nanih Waiya travels to Union to participate in their jamboree by taking on Lake at 6:00 pm on Friday night (Aug 10). Noxapater will head to Choctaw Central on Friday night as well and if you don't want to travel, Winston Academy will host a jamboree on Friday as well with Junior Varsity games starting at 5:00 pm. Regular games start the week of August 17. For those who are new to Winston County, just remember the seasons: Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall or better known as: Deer, Turkey, Fishing and Football!!
