FODP will consider sponsoring a book writing reading club from the request of Shenita Hamilton and Sean and Sean Armstrong.  According to the president, it does fall within the mission the organization which is to provide educational opportunities to the youth in the community.

The group showered praises upon the Winston County Master Gardeners for the work done at Dean Park in 2012 which consisted of cleaning, pruning, building a compost, fertilizing, replenishing soil and mulch around the playground.  County Agent Mike Skipper was instrumental in working with the group as they learned while working. It was considered community service hours for the 13 members.

Faithful member, Mrs. Christine Waldrip, was the recipient of a banner from the membership in memory of her grandson Darien Dotson who passed on January 1, 2013 from a car accident.  Members expressed their love for her and sympathy to her and her family.

Membership dues for Friends of Dean Park, Inc are $10. annually.  Please join and help keep our park maintained and community entertained.
