The Winston County Board of Supervisors met Monday (8-16). In addition to normal business discussions, these items were highlighted:
A continuation of an Airport Grant Agreement designed to pay for a runway striping project.
Discussed a possible ban on the synthetic marijuana known as K2 and sold as incense. K2 was profiled on WWN (click here). A motion was made to execute an ordinance to ban the substance in the county however the motion failed until further legal aspects of such an ordinace could be researched.
A continuation of a DUI grant for the Winston County's Sheriff's Office.
Agreement was reached to maintain the county's mil levy at its current 40 mil levy. This levy is the same as last year's. A public hearing on the budget was also set for September 3.
