The much anticipated 2010 high school football season is about to take off. While some teams participated in jamboree events last week, the season kicks off for real locally on Friday night.
The Louisville Wildcats under new Head Coach M.C. Miller will take to the road to face Northwest Rankin at 7:30. Last year's matchup saw a win at home for the Wildcats against the 4-8 Cougars.
The Tigers of Noxapater also are on the road at Choctaw Central for a 7:30 start time. Last year, the Tigers dropped the game to Choctaw Central on route to a 0-5 start but a strong finish.
The Nanih Waiya Warriors start their season Friday night as well against Union. This game is scheduled for 7:30 at Nanih Waiya. A loss to Union in 2009 was one of only two blemishes on their way to a 11-2 season.
Winston Academy travels to Leake Academy for a 7:00 start. The Patriots start their season with a new Head Coach Harold Wisdom.
