Brandt Receives Melvin Jones Award |
The Louisville Lions Club roared a bit on Tuesday night as new members were added, a new Club President installed and a longtime member was recognized for his service. Teresa Ingram and Dedra Burt joined the local civic organization that has served our area for more than 60 years. Billy Joe Webb also took over the reins from outgoing Club President Ada Woodward and new officers and directors were inducted as well.
Henry Brandt, a longtime member was honored with the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award. Lions International recognizes outstanding individuals by bestowing on them an award that is named for its founder, Melvin Jones. This Award is the highest form of recognition and embodies humanitarian ideas consistent with the nature and purpose of Lionism. Mr. Brandt has been a member of the Lions organization since the 1960’s.
