Absentee ballot counting has been suspended til 4 pm this afternoon. In the early morning hours, the decision was made to halt the count. Several members of the Resolution Board responsible for counting the vote are employed and had to prepare for their workday. Members will begin returning at 4 pm today to resume the count. Circuit Clerk Kim Ming indicated that 4 of the 12 absentee boxes have been counted and that it will likely take several hours to complete, therefore final results will likely only be available by late this evening.
State Senate Race 18 includes votes in Neshoba and Leake Co. Too close to call as Ward and Kilgore are within a few votes of each other - will be decided by absentee votes in all three counties. The absentee votes have been counted in Neshoba and are included in this vote count. Winston & Leake absentee votes remain to be counted. Giles Ward leads with 8170 votes to Kilgore's 8066.
House Dist 43 Race too close to call also- as Evans holds a LEAD OF 4034 votes to Russ Nowell's 3883 with absentee ballots yet to count. Dist 43 includes several boxes in Kemper Co & 1 box in Noxubee Co.

Winston Co. Circuit Clerk indicates a very high turnout today & 976 absentee ballots as well!!
