5th HarvestFest Freeze Out at Dean Park

Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate with the Friends of Dean Park, Inc. (FODP) at the Fifth Annual HarvestFest on Saturday, October 6, 2012.  It was brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr cold.  It felt as if it was below 20degrees with the wind chill factor.  The scarecrow and the children playing in the jumper seemingly were the only ones not complaining about the weather. Regardless of the weather, over a faithful 100 came to the festival, especially, to get those delicious festival foods.  Many purchased food and headed for the comfort of their cars or for home.

DJ Jump (Harvey Hampton) provided a variety of music for the festival. Rappers, Jalissa and Jerome Carter entertained with poetry and gospel rap. Mattie Eichelberger- Davis, of Richmond, CA, was the coordinator for the event.
