College Fair Day at Louisville High School

Winston County High School Seniors had an opportunity to look to the future on Friday as Louisville High hosted a Fall College Fair. Students from Louisville, Noxapater and Nanih Waiya were able to visit and discuss college and career opportunities with approximately 20 colleges ranging from  Mississippi State University and Ole Miss, Blue Mountain College, Delta State, Nashville Diesel and Infinity Career College. Seniors were able to hear and discuss options from military recruiters as well. Winston Medical Center was present as well as they provided information on college requirements and scholarship opportunities in the health care field.
Louisville High Counselor Tomeka Walker was pleased with the student and college turnout. In prior years, the College Fair had been held off campus at the local National Guard Armory but the Louisville High cafeteria served as a familiar location that may have increased participation. Walker indicated that some college representatives come back to the schools later in the year and make personal visits with students as well.
