Carl Jackson Day Declared by City

Saturday, December 8th has officially been declared "Carl Jackson Day" by the City of Louisville. Recognizing the contribution to the community and the holiday tradition that the  "Home For Christmas" concert has become for Louisville, the City has issued the proclamation included below.

Jackson will return for his 16th annual concert on Saturday. The event will be held again at the Strand Theater in downtown Louisville. Jackson's concert has become a Christmas tradition for the area and tickets for the event have been sold out.

Scheduled to appear are a bevy of singer/songwriters including Larry Cordle, Jerry Salley, Valerie Storey, Johnny Rawls and Bradley Walker. Comedian Lonnie Shorr is also scheduled to perform. Grammy winner  and Mississippi Music Hall of Fame member Jackson performs an array of gospel and country music in an intimate and family friendly show.

The concerts benefit the local Community Arts Center and there will be two shows on Saturday at 4 pm and 7 pm.
