P-16 Community Engagement Membership Selection Meeting

The Louisville Municipal School District (LMSD) received a D rating on its academic achievements for the 2011-2012 school year. This performance puts the LMSD on Academic Watch by the Mississippi Department of Education-Accountability Results 2012. OUR CHILDREN NEED YOU!

The state accreditation standard (18) requires school districts that are less than successful to work together through a pre-kindergarten through higher education (P-16) Community Engagement Council. The Council seeks to move from complaints toward solutions by partnering with the district to do all we can to improve the quality of education for every child in the Louisville Municipal School District.

The MISSION STATEMENT was adopted on November 10, 2012, by the P-16 initiators.
The mission of the Louisville Municipal School District P-16 Community Engagement Council is to: (1) Provide a welcoming environment and mechanisms for community input in the Louisville Municipal School District’s decision making process, (2) Assist in the dissemination of data and information from the Louisville Municipal School District to the community, (3) Help coordinate and facilitate the delivery of community priorities, needs, and opinions to the Administration and School board members of the Louisville Municipal School District, and (4) Develop and accurately assess strengths and limitations of the Louisville Municipal School District in order to recommend effective approaches in creating quality, healthy, and safe schools.

PLEASE JOIN US FOR THE P-16 COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT MEMBERSHIP SELECTION AND EDUCATION PROCESS: Monday, January 14, 2013, at the Louisville High School Cafeteria at 6:00pm.
ALL stakeholders (students 12 & up, parents, grandparents, business owners, elected officials, all school personnel, civic organizations, concerned citizens, etc.) are invited to participate in this membership process. Your voice matters and we need your input.
