Some Winston Co. Properties Subject to Tax Sale Later This Year

Chancery Clerk Julie Cunningham issued a reminder to property owners that any delinquent taxes from tax year 2009 will result in the loss of property at an upcoming tax sale later this year. The County will conduct a tax sale in August for those properties that have unpaid taxes from the year 2009. Cunningham indicated that there are approximately 280 properties subject to sale. The Chancery Clerk's Office has attempted to contact the property owners in question but are not always successful due to address changes or change in ownership through inheritance, etc. Cunningham encourages property owners who know that there are delinquent tax issues with their property to contact her office as soon as possible.
