from DARE Graduation 2011 |
It's been a beautiful week here in Winston County- unusually warm for March. Except for the allergy sufferers- we couldn't ask for anything more. Coming up on Friday morning (3-30), the
annual 5th Grade DARE Graduation is set for 9 am in the Louisville Elementary Auditorium. Students from LMSD schools and Winston Academy participated in the program. DARE or Drug Abuse Resistance Education is taught by local police officer Tonya McWhirter. Last year was my first time to attend the event and it was a pleasure. If you want to see something that makes you feel good about our community and our kids, take a few minutes to drop by & see these young people as they accept their awards.

2011 Pilot Pageant |
On Saturday, the annual
Pilot Club Pageant will be held at the Louisville High School Auditorium at 6 pm. The pageant is for girls ages 4-18 and boys from 4-7. This year's pageant theme is "A Garden Party". Proceeds from the pageant go toward local projects and to promote awareness and assist those affected by brain related disorders.
Also on Saturday - starting at 6 am, the
County Wide Yard Sale/Flea Market will be held at the Louisville Coliseum. This is a great place to have your yard sale or display your wares regardless of the weather. There's still time to sign up for a booth (only $10). To sign up or get more information, call 662-773-7896.
Hope everyone has a safe weekend!!
