Winston Co Investigation Results in 5 Drug-Related Arrests

Press Release- March 30, 2012: On 03/29/2012, members of the Winston County Sheriff’s Department, the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, the Mississippi Highway Safety Patrol, the Mississippi Highway Patrol Criminal Investigation Division, the Mississippi Department of Corrections, and the Louisville Police Department participated in an investigation of drug trafficking at a residence on Hwy 14 East that resulted in the service of a search warrant. As a result of this investigation 5 arrests have been made. Marijuana, cocaine, prescription pills, cash and guns were seized at the residence. The investigation is on-going and more arrests are anticipated.
This case was initiated due to reports of suspected drug activity by concerned citizens. The cooperation of concerned, law abiding citizens who are willing to come forward is essential in the war on drugs.
Sheriff Pugh expresses his appreciation to the officers of the agencies who participated in this investigation and to the citizens who made this possible.
