(latest update 3:00 pm 4-3-12) On Thursday, 03/29/2012, members of the Winston County Sheriff’s Department, the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, the Mississippi Highway Safety Patrol, the Mississippi Highway Patrol Criminal Investigation Division, the Mississippi Department of Corrections, and the Louisville Police Department participated in an investigation of drug trafficking at a residence located at 4648 Hwy 14 East that resulted in the service of a search warrant. The ensuing investigation resulted in 6 arrests. Marijuana, cocaine, prescription pills, cash and guns were seized at the residence. The investigation is on-going and more arrests are possible.
Arrested were: Marquenton Love - Conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance *** Johnny Wraggs - Felony possession of marijuana & house arrest violation *** Keith Davis - Probation violation *** Jerry Lee - Possession of cocaine, possession of a controlled substance & conspiracy to distribute *** Allison Hartness- Possession of Marijuana & possession of a controlled substance ***Matthew McKee - Possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle.
Chief Sheriff's Deputy Neil Higgason indicated that there were three children living at the home at the time. Four suspects were arrested at the scene while one was picked up later for parole violation and an additional suspect fled the scene but was arrested the next day.
This case was initiated due to reports of suspected drug activity by concerned citizens. The cooperation of concerned, law abiding citizens who are willing to come forward is essential in the war on drugs.
Sheriff Pugh and Deputy Higgason expressed their appreciation to the officers of the agencies who participated in this investigation and to the citizens who made this possible.
