Best Place to be in Mississippi This Weekend/ Red Hills Festival

Big happenings starting Friday in Louisville as the Red Hills Festival kicks off in style. There seem to be more activities this weekend than usual for the Festival. The fun starts on Friday as there will be some food vendors out and about ( believe I hear of some boiled crawfish and fresh ground coffee beans ) as well our local downtown restaurants with their usual superb fare. The carnival is in town and located behind the courthouse with rides and games on Friday night and all day Saturday. There will be some big time entertainment as folks can dance the night away to Jay & the T-Birds featuring Jay McCart from Louisville. Entertainment will begin at 7pm and continue until 10pm with songs from the 70's,80's & 90's - lots of Rock, R& B & Country to get your boogie on!!
Saturday is loaded with events!! The morning starts out with the 5K Fun Run hosted by the Junior Auxiliary, The Red Hills Car Show, vendors, Winston County Homecoming, FUMC Antique Show and Sale and lots of great entertainment.
The Car Show, located in the First Baptist Church parking lot, will be held from 10am-3pm on Saturday. The cars are Open Show judged, 30+ classes and entry fee is $20. The first 75 entries get a Car Show T-shirt.
Homecoming is a time for folks to visits, talk about old times and reconnect with old friends. Held on the main floor of the County Courthouse on Main Street from 9 til 2, lots of memorabilia, old photos, class pictures and a slide show will be available. Visitors can also register for a gift basket to be given away. At 11:00, a real treat is in store for those interested as Sheriff Jason Pugh will provide a short tour of the historic jail on the Courthouse's top floor.

Live entertainment and political speakers take the stage throughout the day with something for everyone. Local Band Deja Vu will close out the entertainment starting at 1:00 pm.

We just touching the high points on the day. The First United Methodist antique auction  & sale and breakfast is always a hit. Local merchants are gearing up for the event as well as there will be a book signing by local author Rick Algood and local photographer,Kevin Hudson will have his photographs available at Uptown Lily at the Framin' Shoppe.
 
In addition to the Festival, the Louisville Fire Dept will be holding a Benefit Motorcycle Ride with line up at 10:00 am at the Louisville Fire Department. LFD will also have a booth at the Festival with Snow Cones, Bouncy Castle and Face Painting.  To top it all off- Little Britches Rodeo is in town at the Louisville Coliseum. I know we missed something but you should come on out and not miss any of the fun or entertainment. Join us on Friday, enjoy our great food, stay in our hospitable motels and enjoy the fun, flavor and hospitality of our great little town!!
