The following is a schedule of events:
Teen Program
Theme – “Own The Night”
Grades – Going in to Seventh through Twelfth Grades
Programs every Monday in June
Programs: Monday, June 4th from 2:00 – 3:00 – Jackson, MS area illustrator/ teacher/writer Chuck Galey will present a graphic novel program called “Dream Scapes” in which the participants will learn how to develop characters and sketch rough ideas; learn how to develop plot and resolution; and draw panels of the graphic novel.
Monday, June 11th from 3:00 – 4:00 – Wade Baskin (GT Physical Therapy) will present a program on self-defense and martial arts. Monday, June 18th starting at 8:00pm at the library - Winston County Children’s Librarian Julie Chase will lead teens on a Scavenger Hunt for fun prizes.
Monday June 25th 2:00 – 3:30 – Awards Day, including a Water War (teens
should bring a water gun if possible) and home-made ice cream.

Programs every Tuesday In June with Awards Day July 10th
Programs: Tuesday, June 5th from 2:00 – 4:00 Northgate Cinema Movie Day – kids will be treated to a movie. Children should come directly to the Northgate Cinema movie theatre and not to the library for this event.
Admission to the movie is sponsored by Rives & Reynolds Lumber Company of Louisville. Children should be prepared to pay for any refreshments they may want.
Tuesday, June 12th from 3:00 – 4:00 Mississippi Magic Man and Balloon Dude Dorian LaChance will host a party filled with magic, laughter, wholesome comedy and amazement. Dorian is sponsored by Plum Creek Corporation.
Tuesday, June 26th from 2:00 – 3:00 – The Snakeman! Terry Vandeventer returns to entertain and educate children about reptiles by showcasing several variety of non-venemous snakes, including a python. Snakeman will ask for volunteers from the audience to hold up the python, which could be as long as 10 feet! Snakeman is sponsored by Crowson Auto World of Louisville.
Tuesday, July 10th – from 2:00 – 3:30 Awards Day Children in each grade will receive reading awards and a Grand Prize of a $100 Wal-Mart Gift Certificate. Then the fun begins with Waterworks, courtesy of the Louisville Fire Department, sno-C\cones from the Sugar Shack (children should bring $1 for their sno-cones), Face-painting by the Louisville Junior Auxiliary members and lots more.
