New Attempt at a Farmer's Market Scheduled for June 14

Spurred by a small "Spark Plug" grant from the Appalachian Community Learning Project, a local farmer's market will be implemented at a new location starting Thursday, June,14. A small group of interested producers recently met to discuss the details.  Final rules and dates were not complete at the time of this posting but there will be a market set up from 4:00 pm til 7:00 pm at the Louisville Coliseum.
Organizers hope to grow the market and increase the number of producers that participate and encourage consumers to attend. There was some discussion of adding a Saturday morning market as well. Value added products from local producers are welcome including such items as baked goods, canned goods, etc. For more information, contact the Winston County Extension Office.
