ECCC Workforce Development Offers OSHA ‘HAZWOPER’ Refresher Course

OSHA HAZWOPER Refresher Course, annual training required to maintain HAZWOPER certification, is being offered at the East Central Community College Career Advancement Center located in the old Spartus facility at 923 South Church Street in Louisville. This eight hour course provides training in remediation and clean-up of an uncontrolled hazardous waste site.  In addition, emphasis is placed on site safety and health plans, response protocol, confined space entry, emergency planning, decontamination, trenching, and excavation. The course is being taught by Ben Rosenkrans, experienced HAZMAT instructor and is required for persons working the American Creosote Site.  Pre-registration with payment and 100% completion of the course is required.Training will be held Thursday, July 19, 2012 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.Cost of the class is $100 per trainee.For more information and to reserve your seat, contact Chris Clark, ECCC Workforce Development Center Coordinator, Phone 601-635-6245 or Shelley Thomas, ECCC Louisville Site Coordinator, Phone 662-536-1150.
