Fire Depts Respond to Two Fires This Morning

Gas Fire between Dirt Cheap
and Louisville Coliseum
A gas line fire was reported this morning (Oct 30) behind Dirt Cheap on N. Church Avenue.  The reason for the fire is not clear, but it could have been the result of an exposed line that was broken during clean-up around the property this morning.

While responding to the gas line fire, the fire department received a call to a house fire at 3790 Hwy 15N around 10:00 am. Highpoint and Louisville Fire Departments responded to the scene. No one was home at the time of the fire but there was significant damage done to the interior of the residence. The fire is believed to have been caused by a faulty space heater.

Louisville Fire Chief Terry Johnson would like to ask everyone to PLEASE have their heating systems checked before the cold weather sets in.

Significant interior damage
