Two Winston County teams are ranked in the top 5 of their divisions of Mississippi high school football. After their defeat of Noxubee County last week, the Louisville Wildcats not only rank # 2 in 4A behind Lafayette County in the Super 10 rankings, they also rank # 10 overall in the state and in the MPB poll, the Wildcats are ranked # 9 behind South Panola and one spot ahead of # 10 Noxubee County. With one more division game with Leake Central coming up this week, Louisville is guaranteed post season play and likely headed to a showdown with #1 in 4A, Lafayette County.
Nanih Waiya is sporting a # 1 ranking in division 1A in the Super 10 poll as well. With convincing wins in division play , the 7-2 Warriors are also headed to post season play but face 2 more division games including a tough in-county matchup with Noxapater who is also 7-2. Noxapater heads to Nanih Waiya on Thursday, November 3 for a regular season finale.
