If approved, improvements would be made in some form to most of the schools in the district: Noxapater plans include football field lighting, gym repair and other improvements. Fair and Louisville Elementary would receive more class room space and physical education facilities. Eiland would receive some repair work and Louisville High would expand classrooms to facilitate the move of 7th and 8th graders to the campus. Nanih Waiya would receive some major changes with a reconfiguration of the cafeteria, and new classrooms among other improvements.
The proposed changes and associated costs have been a major topic in the community and the public hearing is expected to draw a large crowd. School officials indicate that the proposed improvements would cost roughly $7.5 million to be paid over a ten year period.
