There is plenty to do in and around Louisville starting Thursday and into the weekend. You can check out our calendar and our events pages for more details and times. Starting at 8:30 on Thursday, The Winston County Library and Friends of the Library will be having a huge book sale extending through Saturday at noon. There are tons of books, many almost new- from fiction to nonfiction, cookbooks, and self help. Costs are minimal and proceeds go to the Library. I dropped by there today and have my eye on a few already.
There will be some great shopping opportunies for that Mother's Day and Graduation Presents on Thursday evening as downtown Louisville hosts "Queen for a Day- Ladies Night Out" from 5:30 til 7:30 pm. Register Mom at participating merchants for a Basket of Goodies. This event is sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce/Main Street.
Also on Thursday night, Market Cafe will be hopping as the First Presbyterian Youth host a Spaghetti Supper and Silent Auction from 5:30pm til 8:00 pm. The cost of the dinner is $15 and there are a large number of items to bid on.

And at 6:15 pm on Thursday, there will be a Leadership Training Workshop at the Winston County Extension Office. Come learn important skills on how to be an effective leader in the community. To sign-up or for more information, call Rita Tanksley at the Extension Office at 662-773-3091.
On Friday, there will a Senior Citizen's Day at Dean Park from 8:30 til 2:00 pm sponsored by the Winston County Triad. Participants are asked to bring a covered dish. Also on Friday, the First Apostolic Church will be selling Steak& Potato Plates in front of Vowells' Market
Saturday is a big day for the kids as the Annual Kids & Kats Fishing Rodeo is scheduled at Legion State Park. Free to kids under 14, registration begins at 7:00 AM. Folks will need to bring their own fishing gear, bait & coolers. Prizes will be awarded and refreshments are available.
