Dean Park's Annual Harvest Fest Scheduled for Oct 6

The time is here for the Friends of Dean Park's 5th Annual HarvestFest at Dean Park, 3850 HWY 15 South Louisville, MS.  This festival, which is a major event at Dean Park will be held Saturday, October 6, 2012, 12 noon - 5 p.m. The festival is sponsored by the Friends of Dean Park, Inc. A $1.00 donation is requested at the gate by adults 18 years and older. There will be jumpers and other carnival toys for children; and various other games, entertainment, bingo, talent show, and card games.

Raffle - 1st prize Handmade Quilt by Christine Waldrip; 2nd Prize $100.00; 3rd Prize Afghan. Raffle tickets are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. Members may contact Mattie Davis, 662.773-3851, for tickets. All funds will go toward our special project for the year which is to assist with the building of another bathroom at Dean Park. The bathroom will be built near the pavilion which will make it more convenient for seniors and physically challenged visitors.

Vendors will provide food, crafts and educational information. Food will include fried skins, snow cones, ice cream, BBQ, fried fish, hamburgers, hot dogs, polish sausage, nachos and cheese, cakes, pies and other festival foods. Food, crafts and other merchandise booths are $40.00; informational booths for non profits or charitable organizations are $30.00. Vendors may contact Janice Hopkins, 662.773-7743.

Businesses and organizations may enter a Scarecrow Contest. The entry fee is $15.00. Certificates will be awarded to the winners along with publicity.
